The inaugural 2020 gala dinner that was to be held May was canceled due to the COVUD 19 pandemic.
We were disappointed the dinner couldn't move forward and the invitees couldn't hear and meet our keynote speaker, Medal of Honor recipient Clint Romesha. In lieu of the event, we honored our Aiken County enlistees by running a full-page spread naming each person and their branch of service in the Aiken Standard and the North Augusta Star, providing an autographed copy of Clint's New York Times Bestselling Book "Red Platoon" and including Clint's challenge coin as well as his congratulatory letter of encouragement to the recruits which can be seen on this site.
We also presented a $150 gift card to each recruit. While we recognize these gifts can't replace the enthusiasm of the gala, we were pleased to be able to show our support and to celebrate these young men and woman's decisions to serve our country. We look forward to next year and to the celebratory dinner for the 2021 recruits, their parents, school principals, counselors and major donors.
